I live with my husband and our three daughters in Calcot, West Reading. I have over sixteen years of professional childcare experience, a love of children and a commitment to providing long-term care. I offer a very flexible service; have a caring and patient nature and a very good sense of humour. I believe that childhood is a wonderful time – it is filled with so much awe, wonder and innocence, and I am totally committed to ensuring that every moment a child spends with me is explored to the full.
I have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Development and have up-to-date CRB and Paediatric First Aid Certificates. My last OFSTED Inspection was in September 2011 when I was awarded OUTSTANDING for the second consecutive time. I am a fully insured member of the National Childminding Association (NCMA) and an ACCREDITED member of the West Berkshire Childminding Network. I have public liability insurance and I am also registered with the ICO who administer the Data Protection Act and the Environmental Health Department and am subject to their inspections.
As a Registered Childminder, I am committed to the welfare and development of all of the children in my care and will ensure that their environment is safe, warm, friendly and stimulating.
I am also a qualified Black Belt Taekwon-do Assistant Instructor together with my two older daughters. My husband is a qualified Black Belt Instructor and our youngest daughter is also a Black Belt. I have designed and teach part-time my own Life Skills Curriculum to over forty martial arts students, aged 4-7 yrs in the evenings. These life skills include Bullying, Stranger Awareness, Road Safety, First Aid, Healthy Eating and Fire & Emergency Services. My classes are very popular with parents and students.
Prior to having children, I enjoyed a successful six-year career as a Legal PA with various legal firms in Swansea, Bristol & Reading. In September 1992 I gave up my career to become a full time Mum. In June 1994 I decided to use my childcare experiences as a Mum to start my own childcare business and it has been operating successfully ever since.
